Peace with God
- God’s intention in creating us was that we serve him, and in doing so, have a personal friendship with Him. This relationship was to bring Him honor, while at the same time bring us great joy.
- Sadly, our sinfulness separates us from God. All our sins are expressions of rebellion against Him. Each sin is part of our own effort to live independently from God. This way of life has broken our relationship with God, robbing us of the true joy which can only come through our friendship with Him.
- Worse, our sin puts us on a path of certain eternal punishment. God is infinite, eternal, and absolutely holy, any sin against Him deserves an infinite and eternal punishment.
- The Good News is that God loves us so much that he sent his Son Jesus to make friendship with God possible once again. While Jesus was dying on the cross, God poured out on him the punishment of sin that we deserved. He died as our substitute.
- If we repent and put our faith in Jesus, God promises to forgive us of our sins. More than that, we will receive the Holy Spirit which will help us to live lives pleasing to God and experience the great joy which only comes through a personal relationship with Jesus.
If you do not have this personal relationship with Jesus – this great joy – then you are urgently invited to speak with the pastor or one of our church leaders.
